I recording made near some woods of the wind ebbing and flowing on an unusually mild day in late november of 2013. What i find unique about this recording is a lone cricket calling out at various times of this recording. . . Makes for a nice, almost melancholy feeling. It is almost like the cricket is not quite ready to hide away for the winter and is taking advantage of a rare 70-degree november day to call out as if to say "hey, i'm still here, waiting. . . In the grass. ". With headphones on, works wonders in clearing your head. . . Recording made at 6:30 at night with my handy / zoom h4 n recorder using the internal microphones, and of course using a very very stout wind screen. Enjoy.

Since i was walking in the riaza river gorges i saw a lot of ants on the remains of an animal. I put over a pair of contact mics trying not to disturb to the ants. Maybe the sound you can hear in this audio is produced by the ants eating or the. "hoces del río riaza" natural park (segovia) / 2010-09-04 11:00.

After a busy spring listening to the many different warblers which come to visit and a busy summer immersed in the busy sounds of life----both human and natural----autumn's subtle, quiet muted soundscape can be almost like a re-birth for the ears and the soul. The insects, which had taken over center stage since august, are still singing---though now with a quieter volume and a more even sleep and though-inducing tempo. . . . . . . . Brisk winds from the north can be heard more clearly now----swishing, rustling the weedy, tan edges of fields. . . . . Murmuration in ireland, on the electricity lines behind my house. Must have been at least one thousand starlings. In this you'll hear them tweeting etc and a whole bunch of them flying. Recorded in stereo on zoom h4n. Some low cut filtering used but nothing else. I have 13 continuous minutes of this so if you need more, just ask lol.

Common terns are pale gray overall with a black cap. Breeding birds have a fully black cap that extends to the back of the neck and a gray belly. Terns comes from lac des chanteraines next to paris. I love listen to terns next to highway. It’s a pretty shocking contrast of noise pollution.

Walyunga is a haven of peace and tranquility just outside of perth. It's one of my favourite hikes in the area, as it's only a couple of hours long and combines proximity to water, a bit of a climb, stunning views of perth's skyline, solitude, and gorgeous flora and fauna. The soundscape of a thunderstorm that passed over berlin in 2012, recorded from my backyard window with a little earplug stereo mic that a friend once made for me - a dummy head. The heavy rain was followed by thunder, then transforms into softer rain that lets you hear faint city sounds like cars, doors closing, someone using a screwdriver, voices, the bells of a nearby church, airplanes and birds. There's so much to hear, i couldn't stop recording. I only took out some little peaks caused by the movement of my ear.

Gem pathescope 9. 5mm projector, unit #1191, made in england. Recorded on a marantz pmd661 with a rode nt4 stereo mike. The gem is a variable speed projector, controlled by a rheostat. Speed for this recording is about 16 fps. Microphone was facing the roller side of the projector, 30 cm away. Audio begins with power being turned on, ends with power being turned off. The end of the film leaves the take-off reel at 4. 05 and becomes free of the last roller at 4. 09, when the motor speeds up. The speed and audio-level variations during recording occurred naturally.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.

These owls were recorded around 8:30 at night in the shawnee national forest using my trusty rode ntg-2 on a mic stand. Even though it was a mild night and the insects and frogs should have been vocalizing, they weren't. It was kind of neat -- a dead-quiet night with nothing but these owls. If you thought that owls only do "hoot-hoot" you'll be surprised. After about a minute into it they really get going.

A recording of an eastern phoebe, made near a creek in a typical midwest oak/hickory/sycamore forest. This very unique, two-note call, which you may have heard before, is, in my opinion, very beautiful despite it's short duration. Despite this bird's non-colorful plumage, his song makes up for it!. Recording made on april 10th, 2013 around 6:45 in the morning about 15 feet from a small creek. My recorder, the zoom h4n, was mounted on a tripod in the middle of the creek. I was using the h4n's built-in microphones. Volume level was 80 (on a scale of 100 being the maximum).

24/48 mono recording of the sound of a fnx. 45 acp being shot slowly in a gun range 9 times. During the recording there are a couple shell casing that can be heard hitting the floor. There is a long break after the final shot before the target is recalled on the automatic rail system. There is a slightly echo-y natural reverberation to the gun range. Other than that the recording is very quiet in-between shots and each shot sound was allowed to dissipate before another round was fired.
